The steep hill to the check-in area is definitely a workout!!! It would be a significant improvement to offer iron and ironing board in the room instead of a communal setup!!! Addressing the humidity and dampness in common areas would definitely enhance comfort levels!!!

The basement apartment I got had plenty of space, with two bedrooms and two baths, which felt like a party on my own. Breakfast had unique items like pancakes and smoked fish cooked to order, along with a decent buffet spread, so no complaints there.
Getting to the room was a workout—steep stairs and my room was on the 4th floor, making it quite a climb. the shower tap was a bear to turn, not ideal for anyone with grip issues, and having to walk up the hill to check in while managing my luggage was less than convenient. Lastly, the view from the window left much to be desired. there was just a sight of drainpipes and neighboring rooftops.

During my stay at Glen Mona, the room was cozy with warm wooden furnishings, a comfortable double bed, and a well-kept en-suite bathroom stocked with complimentary toiletries. The daily supply of tea, coffee, and biscuits was a delightful touch. Breakfast was served at the nearby HQ Bar, featuring a hearty spread that included fresh, hot options like American pancakes and Manx kippers, all of which made for a lovely start to the day.
The absence of parking facilities slightly inconvenienced my arrival.

Glen Mona has a lot going for it. The location along the promenade made exploring Douglas super easy. I appreciated the clean room with a cozy double bed and a well-kept en-suite bathroom stocked with complimentary toiletries. The breakfast at the nearby HQ Bar stood out, especially the hot smoked salmon on toast, which I still talk about. I also enjoyed the freshly brewed coffee options. I encountered some issues. My room was on the top floor, and the climb up steep stairs was quite a challenge, especially with heavy luggage. I had trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi in my room, forcing me to head downstairs whenever I needed to get online. The noise from adjacent rooms could be heard, which made for some restless nights. The shower pressure was quite weak, and the temperature fluctuated when others used their showers, making it frustrating. Addressing these points could make a big difference in an otherwise pleasant stay.

Oh, the grilled cheese from nearby Welbeck Restaurant was a heavenly delight! Not too far to walk, and once there, the ambiance made it feel like a hidden gem. Plus, the central promenade location made exploring a breeze. The rooms, though basic, had handy cupboards for stashing your stuff, making the most of the space!
The heating was a total flop – I was bundled up in a coat just to stay warm! Plus, the damp and humidity made the whole place feel old and musty. Did I mention the walls were paper thin? I heard every late-night escapade from the party-goers next door. Yikes!

The location near the beach and promenade offered easy access to local shops and takeaways, enhancing the convenience of the stay. Breakfast was varied and delicious, with fresh sandwiches being a standout. the lack of heating made the stay somewhat uncomfortable, and the cold plates at breakfast detracted from the overall experience. the room’s view faced an unappealing interior patio, resulting in a darker atmosphere than desired.

A lekker time in Douglas! 🌊
The breakfast was dik brekkie, really enjoyed the fresh cooked options! Staff were so friendly and made me feel welcome. The location's a bonus, close to the promenade and shops. Great place to chill after a day out!
